Waterproof Padlock

This water-resistant padlock has an innovative fluid-tight design at the engagement region between the shackle legs of the padlock and the openings for receiving these legs to prevent the locking mechanism configured within the padlock body from mud, dirt, water or any deleterious materials. It is waterproof and suitable to be use indoor or outdoor under various deleterious atmospheric conditions.

This padlock can further comprises a key-way covering means for protecting the key passage way from being ruined by any contaminants, rust-inducing or deleterious materials.

The followings are the illustration and claims of the waterproof padlock:

1. A padlock comprising a body (51) with two openings (57, 58), a shackle (52) with a long leg (54) fixed within the body (51) and a short leg (53) mounted on the body (51) which is releasable from the opening (57) in an unlocked mode, characterized in that female covering members (55) circumferentially extend from the long leg (54) and the short leg (53) are engaged with male covering members (56) formed around the corresponding openings (57, 58) to form a seal in a locked mode;
2. A padlock according to claim 1, wherein the female covering members (55) are cap-like protrusion or annular notches;
   
3. A padlock according to claim 2, wherein the cap-like protrusion are conical or hemispherical in shape;
4. A padlock according to claim 1, wherein the male covering members (56) are uprising annular flanges;
5. A padlock according to claim 4, wherein the uprising annular flanges has a sharp rim or flat rim; and
6. A padlock according to claim 1, wherein the male covering members (56) are formed on the body (51) of the padlock.

A waterproof padlock model size of 50mm will have the followings measurements:

For a padlock size model of 40mm, the upper shackle diameter is 6mm with shackle legs diameter of 4mm.

For a padlock size model of 60mm, the upper shackle diameter is 10mm with shackle legs diameter of 8mm.
